It's Your Bed - Make Sure You Love It
Executive Summary by Ben Weissman

The informed planner is the happy bed owner.

Have a STYLE

There are great choices: Contemporary Beds, Iron Beds, Sleigh Beds, Platform Beds, and one of these will work best with the style you've chosen.
Consider only buying a piece or two at first. -Keep in mind room size when deciding on bed size. A Modern Bed or Futon with sleek simple lines is going to be easier to clean and care for than an ornate carved Poster Bed.

Make a PLAN

Try drawing your bedroom on a piece of paper. Then draw in the approximate size and placement of the various pieces of furniture.

Take MEASUREMENTS

That probably won't work in a bedroom with Platform Bed.

Research, Research

To really learn how to buy beds that will be perfect for you and yours, consider what the experienced bed-buyers suggest. Maureen Shea, director of housekeeping at Westin Boston Waterfront Hotel, buys the beds and mattresses for her hotel.
